Who is Zoubida?
Who is Zoubida?
My favourite question! Zoubida is a North African name that was very popular a few generations ago. When I was a kid, my dad never taught me Arabic - but every summer he'd send me and my brothers to stay with my aunt Aicha in Casablanca, who didn't really speak French. We kept hearing: Zoubida! Zoubida! (We found out years later she was just calling the neighbour!)
But in our childhood imagination, we turned it into an expression for when things don't go exactly as planned. Miss your train? Zoubida. Drop a plate? Zoubida. The Moroccan way of saying c'est la vie.
That spirit is everything Zoubida the brand stands for. You ask for lilac, it comes out pink? Zoubida - even better. Working with artisans means embracing the unexpected, and honestly, that's where the magic lives.
Where are you based?
Where are you based?
I split my time between London and Morocco. I've called London home for ten years - I moved here for my job at Alexander McQueen and completely fell in love with the city's energy. Morocco is where my family is, and where all the Zoubida making happens. I hop between the two constantly.
Who makes your products?
Who makes your products?
The most incredible group of independent artisans (that became like family now!) - most of whom have been with us since the very beginning. Our team grows slowly and intentionally, and every person in it brings years of craft knowledge and real expertise.
When you buy from Zoubida, you're not just buying an object. You're supporting a whole ecosystem of makers and skills.

If something is out of stock, will it come back?
If something is out of stock, will it come back?
Probably not in the exact same form - and that's the beauty of it. Everything we make uses deadstock fabric that I personally collect over time, so each piece is genuinely limited edition.
The good news? I have a huge personal fabric archive, so if you love something that's gone, I may well be able to create something very similar just for you. Just reach out: hello@zoubidazoubida.com
