On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris unveiled the winners of the inaugural Arab Fashion Award (AFA-IMA), marking a defining moment for the region’s creative scene. The ceremony gathered leading figures from fashion, culture, and media to honour emerging designers shaping the future of Arab craftsmanship and innovation.
Created to spotlight the diversity and excellence of Arab design talent, the Arab Fashion Award recognised four winners across three main categories — Emerging Talent, Innovative Talent, and Accessories Talent — while two additional special prizes were introduced to celebrate outstanding projects that transcended category boundaries.
Creative Entrepreneurship Prize: Sophia Kacimi (Zoubida) – Morocco
After fifteen years in the luxury sector, Sophia Kacimi founded Zoubida, a collective rooted in Moroccan heritage. Collaborating with artisans from Fez to Rabat, she crafts unisex, timeless “art-to-wear” pieces that celebrate joy, craftsmanship, and cultural identity. The brand also embraces community through participatory textile installations.
